About Me
Hello! I’m Helen Cobb. I’m a cisgender bi-racial counsellor and the founder of Healing
Horizons.
Qualifications:
I have a Level 6 Diploma in Counselling and a Level 7 Advanced Diploma in
Psychotherapy Training. I’m trained in Transactional Analysis whilst also taking
an integrated psychodynamic approach to my work that draws on
transpersonal, IFS and Jung. I am regularly supervised.
Prior to training as a counsellor I came from an Art and Design background
where I studied at The Wimbledon School of Art and gained a BA Hons in
Fashion Management from The London College of Fashion. My creative career
saw me working in and around Soho for a number of years.
Work and Clinical Experience:
I’ve worked in the mental health sector in London, Kent, and Sussex for over a
decade with charities like Mind and Age UK, along with charities for children
and young people with disabilities.I have held many types of positions in the
creative industry and charitable sector. These have been leading the Creative
Service Team, being Head of Delivery for London for a social enterprise, and a
Family Liaison Manager overseeing multiple South London boroughs. I have
also established and managed a well-being drop-in centre funded by the NHS.
Kent & Medway Trust for at-risk clients, and I continue to volunteer as a School
Counsellor at a Sixth College
A Personal Note !
I’m a real person with life experience.I bring a lot of lived experience of mental
health, including addictions, trauma, relationship breakdowns, and loss, and
this experience is why I am committed to the profession, as I know that this
doesn’t define who you are.
I often feel that lucky, as this isn’t work for me! It’s an honour and a privilege
to work with my clients and to get involved in all aspects of Healing Horizons.

My journey into the mental health started over a decade ago. I felt disempowered by the private sector chasing targets and deadlines I felt like a I was on a hamster wheel .
I moved into the charity sector and for over a decade I have held many types of positions such as Head of Delivery (London) for a social enterprise supporting families with disabled children—that lived across South London. My clinical experience involved setting up a wellbeing drop in centre in Kent for people ‘going into crisis’ working for the Charity Mind as Volunteer Counsellor . I continue to volunteer for as a Sixth Form College.
I have had the privilege to work within different setting and a diverse range of people.
I often feel that lucky as this isn’t work for me ! it’s an honour and a privilege to work with my clients and to get involved in all aspects of Healing Horizons.

I know what suffering means BUT as Rumi says ‘The wound is the place where the light enters you ‘.
To ignore it is to live in darkness to embrace it is to shine the light on it and heal.
I have a private clinic on Great Portland Street on Mondays and a Clinic in Tunbridge Well on a also do Online Therapy .
I work with long term clients with regular 6 week reviews.
This is not a destination it’s a journey .
